Womens High Waist C-Section Recovery Underwear
What should I know about recovering from a c-section?
If you have a Cesarean birth, or C-Section as some prefer to call it, you will know all about recovering from the operation. If you haven’t but you are about to have one, read on.
You will no doubt have been told what to expect, so I won’t bore you with all the details, but the bottom line is, you will be left with a scar that needs time to heal. The initial period is usually 4 – 6 weeks but for the incision to heal completely, it could be up to 8 weeks before you can start wearing normal clothes again.
Your Birth Plan
People tell you to prepare a birth plan before going into hospital. This is like a wishlist, should all go well, what you would like to happen in terms of medication, those present during birth and what you would like to happen immediately after (like what to do with the placenta and umbilical cord). There are plenty of templates on the Internet – check out our Pinterest collection here.
But you need to think as well about your personal needs during your hospital stay, like what to wear?
C-Section – the first month
Some doctors recommend you wear an abdominal band immediately after birth to help the process of healing. This enables you to do natural things like cough and sneeze without fear of bursting your stitches.
Recovering from a c-section takes time and during the first month, you can expect a lot of discomfort. The type of underwear you chose will affect this a lot, so chose carefully and wisely.
You will need underwear with a high waistband that comes above the line of incision. C-Section underwear is specifically designed with this in mind.
